Langkawi Conference Trip 13-16 November 2012

The first time i been to Langkawi was in 2005. If not because of the conference, i don't think i have any chances to visit Langkawi again after seven years. 

In overall, it's a beautiful island and i rented a car this time to explore the island by myself. At first i wanted to rent a smallest car but it was out of stock due to the public holidays. Therefore, i ended up with a Honda Civic which is too big and luxury for a solo traveller like me... haha. 

The only thing that put me down is the price of the goods in Langkawi. I was expected 'duty free' prices for all the goods in Langkawi but at last i realised that only alcohol, cigarettes and chocolate are under the category of 'duty free'. Frankly, some perfumes are even more expensive than the retail shops outside Langkawi.

Farewell Dinner with the (WA22, FSS, UNIMAS) Final Year Students at Hotel 56, Kuching.

The students were having their farewell dinner on the 15th June 2013 and all Program WA22 lecturers were invited to attend and have party with them. This is the video clip of me singing 'Kekasih Gelapku' which i promised them before the dinner that i will learn to sing a Malay song and perform it during the farewell dinner. In addition with that, some photos taken by the students.

UNIMAS Convocation of Post-Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning (27th Jan 2012)

The convocation was held in Hilton Hotel Kuching on the 27th Jan 2012.

Post-Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning (PGDip) programme is an internal staff development programme specifically designed for its newly hired academics and junior lecturers who have just returned from their graduate studies. The programme is designed as a professional development initiative to continuously retool and reskill young academics with knowledge and skills about Teaching at Higher Education, especially in the area of pedagogy and instructional technology (Click here for more information).

ISITI UNIMAS Writing Retreat at Damaipuri Resort, Kuching (3rd - 5th Feb 2012)

It was a writing retreat for the research group on the Orang Asli Telecenter project and the main purpose is to gather everyone in order to produce and compile a final report of the research project.

The 3-day writing retreat was held at Damaipuri Resort & Spa, Kuching but i missed the 1st day as i have to bring my baby to get her 2nd vaccine. Thus, i joined the group from the 2nd day onwards and below are the photos taken by me using Samsung Galaxy Note.

The view from my room. I love the scene so much as it makes me feel very relaxing and just wanna sit back and relax. Unfortunately, i have to leave the room as soon as possible to join my group for the report writing.  

A panorama view from my room. The good thing of Samsung Galaxy Note is that it has a function called Panorama in the shooting mode. Just choose it and swipe the phone horizontally, it will stitch the photos together and create a panorama photo.

The room. One thing they can improve is to kill off all the tiny ants as there are some marching in the room... i hate ants... Other than that its fine. 

After the swim. The swimming pool is big and the view is really nice as the pool is just located next to the sea...
